Host/Parasite Interactions
As an invasive species, Cornu aspsersum are exposed to a variety of parasites in their immediate environment. I am interested in exploring the parasitic burden and responses to those parasites.
Immunology
Many parasites require a gastropod host to complete their life cycles. I am curious to explore the differences in immune responses across snail taxa. Currently, I am exploring the cellular immune responses of C. aspersum
Parasite Identification
Onchocera lupi has gained a presence in Albuquerque, NM. Using nested primers developed in the Adema Lab, I assess the presence of O. lupi in canine eye tissues.
